Good for them!
It wouldn't happen in the US to many lobbiest and fat cats keeping the energy system the way it is.

Solar Panel Production by Honda
Will American Manufacturers be late to the party?

This looks like Hybrid technology all over again.
American manufacturers look short term. Japanese look long term.

Great!
It is extremely difficult to find solar cells. I've been looking for both my business and personal use, and most places are sold out for a couple of years on solar cells. The more manufacturers, the better!

Detroit, are you paying attention?
While GM and Ford are closing plants and laying tens of thousands of people off, Honda has found a good reason to keep plants running and put (at least some) people back to work. Even better, they'll be producing something that lessens our need for oil and coal, and puts fewer pollutants back into the atmosphere (something else Detroit needs to learn about).
