Because it believes that about 50 percent of its revenue from so-called industry standard servers will come from
blades by 2008, Hewlett-Packard on Monday announced a host of new services that let customers more easily install and integrate these systems into existing computer operations. The new services allow customers to obtain blade servers, which are far thinner than traditional servers, along with HP software packages such as OpenView.
"This is bringing utility computing to the masses as a very affordable price," said Ann Livermore, executive vice president of the Technology Solutions Group at HP.
