Hewlett-Packard closes Novadigm deal

Hewlett-Packard has completed the takeover of management software maker Novadigm. The company said Friday that Novadigm is now part of its software business unit, with its products selling through HP's direct sales channels. Novadigm's management products will be integrated with the OpenView management software products. This move is designed to fit into HP's Adaptive Enterprise strategy.

The acquisition was announced in February as part of HP's efforts to build its management software portfolio through a series of buyouts. Novadigm's software is designed to help automate software upgrades and other configuration-management activities and to help standardize mixed IT environments.
