Why is security so hard?
Can someone please explain to me why this is even possible? How hard can it be to design a Web browser that pops up a dialog box warning that a web site is trying to write (or modify) a file on my local hard drive?

And why is it that article like this focus on the hackers, as if they are the ones to blame, when the real villains IMHO are the guys who write such sloppy browsers? As far as I'm concerned, the real trojan isn't the email, or the web site -- it's the browser itself.
