HP expands InfiniBand partnership

Hewlett-Packard has expanded a partnership to integrate its servers with TopSpin equipment for the InfiniBand high-speed networking technology, the companies said Monday. TopSpin sells InfiniBand network adapters and switches, while HP sells TopSpin products under its own name.

Previously, HP supported Topspin products only on its two server lines that run HP-UX, HP 9000 and Integrity. As a result of the new partnership, HP also will support the products on its ProLiant servers, which use Intel or Advanced Micro Devices x86 processors and run Linux and Windows.
