HP closes Snapfish deal

Hewlett-Packard on Friday said it has completed the acquisition of Snapfish, an online photo service. The acquisition was something of a change in direction for the printer maker, which has long promoted its own machines as the way for people to print photos.

Snapfish has about 14 million subscribers who turn to it for online photo sharing, storage and management. It will now be part of HP's Consumer Imaging and Printing business, led by Senior Vice President Larry Lesley.
