HP closes RLX management software acquisition

Hewlett-Packard completed its acquisition of RLX Technologies, a company that pioneered the technology of blade servers, faltered, but ultimately produced Linux management software HP found desirable. HP announced the plan to acquire RLX earlier in October, including its management software and 36 employees. Terms weren't disclosed.

RLX got its start with products that squeezed many lower-end servers into a small chassis, but IBM and HP had more success later with more powerful blade models. Last year, RLX exited the hardware business.
