HP announces new low-end server

Hewlett-Packard announced its ProLiant ML150 G2, a new server with one or two Intel Xeon processors intended for small and medium businesses. The machine will be available beginning Nov. 1 and can be purchased with a remote management system to aid in troubleshooting or configuration from afar, HP said Tuesday.

Starting prices are $1,129 for a system with a single 3GHz Xeon processor and $1,678 for dual processors. It's available with Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Novell NetWare, and Linux from Novell and Red Hat.
