Google offers cheaper search appliance

Google on Thursday is set to launch a new version of the Google Mini budget search appliance that's aimed at organizations with fewer than 50,000 documents on their intranet. The new version of the corporate search tool will cost $1,995, which marks Google's lowest-priced offering for the appliance, which also comes in versions costing just under $3,000, $6,000 and $9,000. The company offers its Google Search Appliance at costs ranging from $30,000 to $500,000.
