Google, headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., said it bought Redwood City, Calif.-based Outride's intellectual property, including patent rights, source code, trademarks and associated domain names. It said it plans to use the technology to improve the relevancy of its own search, which is one of the most popular search services for consumers and is licensed by major portals such as Yahoo and AOL/Netscape, among others.
