Good Technology supported by HP, Samsung

Good Technology announced Monday a new version of its wireless messaging and data access software. The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company also said devices from Hewlett-Packard and Samsung will be compatible with its GoodLink software. The devices are based on Microsoft's Windows Mobile software, but PalmOne's Palm OS-based Treo 600 also supports GoodLink. The new version of the software, which allows individuals to access e-mail and corporate data wirelessly, boosts over-the-air synchronization speeds threefold and improves battery life of devices by 25 percent, according to the company.

HP's device, the iPaq h6315, can switch between GPRS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth networks. T-Mobile is offering the HP phone. Verizon Wireless will offer the Samsung phone, the i700 Pocket PC, which can connect to 1xRTT cellular networks.
