Gateway announced Friday that Craig Calle has become the company's vice president and treasurer. As part of his new position, he will continue with his duties as vice president of finance for the professional and direct segments. Calle assumes his new responsibilities immediately, Gateway said. Calle, 46, joined the company in June. Prior to that, he served for nine years as vice president of finance and treasurer for Crown Cork & Seal, a manufacturer of packaging products.
The appointment follows Thursday's announcement from a group of Gateway investors, asking the company for a change in leadership on the board. The group, led by Firebrand, wants Gateway to appoint three of its representatives to the board, and change its policies on buyout offers and board elections.
