Gannett said it named Chris Saridakis, chief executive of rich-media unit PointRoll to the post of chief digital officer as it seeks to expand its digital operations.
The McLean, Va.-based USA Today publisher, which also publishes more than 80 local newspapers, also said Jack Williams will be president of Gannett Digital Ventures--which will oversee its portfolio of online classified companies and other diversified businesses. The appointments come as Gannett seeks to transform itself into a company more dependent on the Internet, where readers are increasingly turning to for news.
