Former Sega head joins Microsoft

Microsoft announced Monday that former Sega executive Peter Moore has joined the company. Japanese video game maker Sega, in the midst of a difficult campaign to become the leading third-party publisher of game software, announced last week that Moore, president of Sega's North American arm, had resigned.

Moore will assume the newly created post of vice president of retail sales and marketing for Microsoft's home and entertainment division, which includes the Xbox game console. His duties will include overseeing Xbox promotion in Europe and Japan.
