Former Bush official to get RFID tag

Tommy Thompson, the Health and Human Services Secretary in President Bush's first term and a former Governor of Wisconsin, is going to get tagged.

Thompson has joined the board of Applied Digital, which owns VeriChip, the company that specializes in subcutaneous RFID tags for humans and pets.

To help promote the concepts behind the technology, Thompson himself will get an RFID tag implanted under his skin.

Human RFID tags have emerged as one of the more controversial technologies in years. Civil libertarians theorize that the chips will allow governments or corporations to track people's movement and behavior. Some Christians have said the chips are so evil they fulfill a biblical prophesy about satanic influences.

Advocates, on the other hand, say the chips will contain personal information that will help medical professionals and others provide emergency treatment. The chip provides a form of identification that's tough to lose. By clicking the number found on the chip into a password-restricted database, paramedics can get an accident victim's medical history in the field. (One of VeriChip's scientists came up with the idea of using the company's pet RFID tags on people after watching rescue workers struggle to find the missing after the Sept. 11 tragedy.)

Prisons and jails are also experimenting with RFID bracelets and continual tracking to reduce inmate violence.

"We are all well aware of the need to enhance Information Technology in healthcare," Thompson said in a prepared statement. "It is my belief that VeriChip is an important and secure means of accessing medical records and other information. I look forward to working with the company as it continues its growth."

The "satanic influences" reference in the article refers to the biblical prophecy of the "Anti-Christ" in the book of Revelations -- the evil leader of a global government who will rule ruthlessly. Citizens are tagged with a number on their hand or forehead, known as the "mark of the beast." If they don't have this ID tag, they can't get paid or buy food. They are shut out from the world-wide economic system.

VeriChip a bad idea for privacy

This smacks of the "Big Brother" thing and will be an even bigger invasion of personal privacy. Congress has already stripped the public of too much of its privacy in the name of privacy. Companies use to have to ask before using a person's information and now YOU have to tell them they can't - that is not privacy but it is Congress's idea of privacy!

This VeriChip will just add more ability to allow that privacy to be trampled even more by power hungry bureaucrats and control freaks.

The End of Times... The Age of Rage...

I am shocked, and sadden to open my eyes and see that people are not believing in god or asking for god's help in these natural disasters. But instead blame god and forgive about his promise to us. I'm 21 years old, and sadly i and my boyfriend are the only ones so far that are talking and pointing out the signs of the end of the world.

What is wrong with people? why are we being so corrupted into thinking that these tags/New orleans 2 hurracaines who's names where translated into (Katrina and Rita = Pure humidity of God).

The Earthquakes, and war... I have been hearing that they are still trying to find "the flawless red heifer". And rumors of the temple are starting, we usually think, hey " the temple isn't finished and will probably take forever to be finished". But we never think out of the box, the temple does not have to be finished on the outside, what counts it's the inside of the temple, and the sacrifice of this red heifer.

I have been researching like crazy, and i realized that the temple will probably be finished in the next 7 years, now i ask myself are we going to be alive? everyone is naive as you all have mentioned. I just can't believe that this is the start of the end of the world and Satan is making it very subtle, because that's his whole point. To fool people into thinking it's not the end of the world, sadly us Americans don't know that the signs are slowly appearing, and almost acomplished, because the main prophecies are and will happend in Israel not America.

But God gave us a sign in America, New Orleans and Texas. I heard that women that lost their families in new Orleans and are orphan, where being kidnapped infront of everyone and taken to the bathrooms to be raped. Now, where are all those whise people that know God is coming??? It's so sad because, everyone thinks its not the end and this is all just a bad year, but even in the bible it says those who even believe and devote their lives to God will be fooled by the enemy.

It's sad to see these few replies of you people who wrote knowing that the signs are happening, can you count how many people posted below this forum pointed out the prophecies and believe in god? This is horrible, i just checked this forum and it was last written in June.

Where is the rest of the people in this world? where are the people in America telling everyone and warning them about the signs? just because we can't see the signs doesn't mean their not happening. It is happening, and YES SATAN is using children's parent to fool them into giving their soul. Every parent and family will give their lives to their children and die for them.

And Satan knows this, and this is why, many will accept the ID chip in order to feed their families they are sacrificing their soul. I have two little brothers, and yes, i would give my life for them, but NEVER my soul, god has a place for those who trully are innocent children, and salvation is within us.

(Latest News: Their actually given the chip away FOR KATRINA VICTIMS** already 15,000 have been marked with the symbol of the Beast, their giving the chip to hospitals and training them, for FREE. Sometimes the bibal is very symbolic, i would interpret the mark of the beast as not the number but the meaning. This chip is the same they use for Animals, and if we come to think about it, humans are using this chip like the Animals are (Animals are mark of beast).

You are so right, i am 28 and found out about this about 6 months ago and i have changed my life. I see all the signs clearly and everybody thinks i am crazy. i dont care i know whats going on now ,the third temple will be built and the anti-crist will sit on it in the middle of tribulation and fool everyone to take his mark. Did you know that the 2 hurricanes that hit katrina and wilma were from god. on those days when the hurricanes hit were the first day of the biggest gay parades. maybe god wants the gays to wake up.the hurricanes stoped the gay stuff in new orleans and florida. almost every religion is waiting for their messiah to come,it is gonna happen very soon,pray that you will be gone in the rapture and dont have to go thru tribulation.

RFID is a chip that had a unique identification code, that's all. Therefore there is no privacy issue going on here, because to get into that information they also have to crack the database where your personal information is stored...
