Firms tighten up business security

Check Point Software Technologies announced on Monday that it has added a wireless version to its Safe Office security appliance line. The Safe Office 400W series is designed to provide small businesses with secure wireless network access via 802.11 b/g access points with speeds of p to 108mbps. The wireless appliances are priced at $499.

Separately, McAfee unveiled its Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition Module on Monday. The security software offers real-time scanning and removal of spyware, adware, dialers, keyloggers, password crackers and remote-control programs, the company said. The anti-spyware software for enterprises is expected to launch after mid-December.
