...but how many *finished* it??
3.5 million people may have *started* watching it, but I wonder how many people finished? It was so awful I could barely sit through 2 minutes of it. The alleged "humor" was stupid (and not funny stupid), pedestrian, preditable, and cliche.

The fans did.
You may have thought it was awful, but the true Star Trek fan watched it all the way through; groaners and everything.
It did have some moments of "oh, this is awful" but it was the kind of awful that makes a person watch a car wreck.
Personally, I thought it was great. Obviously not classic Trek, but a good parody; playing up the obvious gags that everyone takes seriously in the real show.

I didn't mind it
I agree that it was weak in parts, but you can't say you gave it a fair chance if you only watched 2 minutes of it. As a B5 fan I thought it was a decent parady. I think "War of the Worlds" was worse!
