- Not to downplay a significant accomplishment but since this project was started it's become abundantly clear that the mitocondrial DNA is also significant. A comprehensive understanding of how cells work (and human cells in particular) isn't going to be available until the rest of the DNA is also sequenced so it's effects can be taken into account.

- Many, including me, believe that they are as important to understanding human genetics as understanding batterie will help you understand a mobile phone. Afterall, they don't even take part in reproduction. You simply get a copy of your mothers.
