FUD on your Apple opinions

In response to the commentary, "A grain of salt with your Apple":

I just read the commentary "A grain of salt with your Apple," posted Jan. 8, 2004. I'm surprised to see this prominently linked from your front page not because this editorial employs questionable logic, but because the editorial is anonymous. If this represents the opinion of CNET or its editorial staff, why is this not stated explicitly? If it is the opinion of an individual, why is he or she not named?

The commentary denigrates the achievement of Virginia Tech, its staff and its volunteers. It also unfairly puts down Apple for being rightfully proud that its computers were used in such an endeavor. I'm frankly disappointed that you would publish such plain-old FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) without attribution. I really expected more from CNET.
