Ex-Palm boss joins security firm

Networking guru Eric Benhamou has joined the board of Web security company Finjan. Benhamou, chief executive of Palm from 2001 to 2003, is currently the chairman and chief executive of Benhamou Global Ventures, which provides investment for technology start-ups.

Finjan said that Benhamou's tech-management experience (he was also CEO of 3Com from 1990 to 2000) will help the 10-year-old company as it grows. Finjan is a specialist in protecting businesses from online malicious software and from scams such as spyware and phishing.

Andrew Donoghue of ZDNet UK reported from London.
