Evite goes local with invitations

Evite on Wednesday redesigned its home page and added local restaurant and club recommendations into its online event planning services. These suggestions are powered by Evite's corporate cousin CitySearch and can be added to a user's personal profile.

Besides offering event invitation services, Evite lets people create "social networks" with their friends and acquaintances, similar to Friendster. People can now post restaurant and club recommendations onto their profiles for friends in their networks to read.
