Egenera receives $30 million

Egenera announced on Monday it received a $30 million second round of funding, led by Austin Ventures. Previous investors Spectrum Equity Investors, Kodiak Venture Partners, CSFB Private Equity, Goldman Sachs and YankeeTek Ventures also participated in this latest round. Marlboro, Mass.-based Egenera has raised a total of $50 million and received an increase in valuation with this round. The company develops high-end servers for data centers, which are designed to be easily re-configured and increase in processing power as needed.
