EMI's Samit joins LoudEye board

Jay Samit, president of digital distribution and development for EMI Recorded Music, has joined the board of directors at digital music services company LoudEye.

LoudEye provides services for digitally encoding and distributing music samples and tracks and recently provided songs from EMI's catalog for use in Apple Computer's iTunes Music Store. EMI is one of the world's largest record companies, with holdings that include recordings from artists such as The Beastie Boys, Cold Play, David Bowie, Garth Brooks and Norah Jones.
