I don't care for the boneheads that can't drive and talk at the same time, but anything short of banning the ownership of mobile phones won't keep the use of phones in cars from increasing.

Based on my personal observations during my daily commutes, drivers using mobile phones are still much safer than solo parents that try to drive while turned around attending to a child in the rear seat.

If the NHTSA and the National Transportation Safety Board really want to improve safety let them pass a law that says all children in car seats must be attended by a care giver other than the driver.
