DoubleClick hires chief marketer

After a more than six-month search, marketing technology company DoubleClick hired former Siebel Systems executive Pete Krainik as its chief marketing officer. The New York-based company said Wednesday that Krainik will head up its global marketing efforts and help shift its sales focus this year. DoubleClick plans to tap Krainik's skills in marketing customer relationship management (CRM) software to help expand its solutions for marketing automation and data management.

Krainik replaces Susan Sachatello, who left the company in the spring of 2003 and was appointed DoubleClick's first chief marketing officer in November 2000. Krainik previously worked as Siebel's general manager of consumer goods, leading the global marketing for CRM solutions. He also has held marketing positions at Mars, i2 Technologies, Deloitte & Touche and Gulf Oil.
