Dolby, Intel sound off for developers

Dolby Laboratories and Intel announced on Wednesday that they will work together to create tools for developers. With the tools, Intel plans to improve high-end audio for various PCs that use Intel chips and technology.

The chipmaker has been promoting new classes of computers, such as the entertainment PC which is essentially a computer running Windows XP Media Center Edition with a consumer electronics-style case. As part of the companies' efforts, a logo program has been created to identify PCs that use Intel components and Dolby's PC-related audio technologies.
