Give away or donate is vague

I could say I will donate a 386 computer. All it means is I'm transfering the process of throwing it away to someone else.

What about...???

All of the other things that add to the planet...

Not just cd's, but cases, plastic, cd players, radios, etc...

Also what is going to be repaired, if the product is obsolete... a 5gb hardrive and a 533mhz chip just can't be upgraded without changing the whole product.... especially when it's the size of the ipod nano...
