In my view, the Umpires are part of the game.

and that includes a good argument here and there. it is important to remember how the rules are written: if the ump sees <...> then he will call <...> and if the ump calls <...> then that is the score.

so if the ump says "Strike 3" -- you are out. It doesn't matter if the ball was over the plate or not. what matters is the call. there are people who don't "get it" but remember: if you argue with the ump you can get thrown out of the game.

you'll be in good company though. :-)
