Delta to make e-ticketing standard

Delta Air Lines on Wednesday stopped issuing paper tickets unless customers are willing to pay a $10 fee, the airline said Wednesday. Atlanta-based Delta is among the first airlines to make e-tickets a primary form of ticketing, a move the company said is designed to help it save cash on rising paper costs.

E-tickets typically help airlines save on handling and postage costs. Most airlines have been trying to steer customers into accepting e-tickets. Some have even introduced online check-in services where travelers can print their boarding passes from a PC before leaving for the airport.
