Dell to feed Cargill's tech needs

Minneapolis, Minn.-based distributor Cargill said on Tuesday that it will adopt Dell computers as standard in its business. It will purchase about 30,000 Dell Optiplex desktops, Latitude D-Family notebooks and PowerEdge servers over the next three years. Cargill will also use Dell's Custom Factory Integration service, which loads special software packages on customers' computers before they leave the factory.

A privately held company, Cargill distributes agricultural, food, financial and industrial products and services. It has 98,000 employees and operates in 61 countries.
