UPCs for Rebates
by LeeAC December 2, 2005 4:07 AM PST
This item shows a $100.00 rebate from Office Depot and a $150.00 rebate from Sony. Both rebates require that the original UPC on the carton should be mailed in. Is there any way to get both rebates with one carton only (i.e. only 1 UPC??) Thanks

Rebates and UPC's
by sarcasticmama December 2, 2005 6:58 AM PST
If you read the directions for the rebates, the $100 will accept a photocopy of the UPC. As always, keep track of when your rebates were sent! Always keep an extra photocopy of EVERYTHING so when you have to send it in again, you have all the info handy. It is a tactic of most rebate programs to try to tell you they didn't receive all the correct stuff and you won't get your rebate.

All fired up - but no place to go! When I tried to order the monitor for my area code, it was not in stock. I also could not find the $30 coupon link.
How do you get to $169?
by bizbosl December 2, 2005 7:30 AM PST
It's priced at $499-$100=$399-$150=$249 final price, plus I don't see the $30 coupon on there?

Click on the $30 coupon line in the original article, it takes you to the coupon page. BTW, it also requires delivery, no instore purchase and carry. That still only gets you to $220 however. Still a pretty good deal on a $500 LCD!

TechBargain has the starting price at $449 but OfficeDepot lists it for $499.

Do the math...

Office Depot has this monitor on sale for $499.99. With the $30.00 instant rebate at time of purchase, the $100.00 Office Depot mail in rebate, and the $150.00 Sony mail in rebate, that leaves $50.99 for someone else to pay if the price really is $169 as you claim.
Do the math.

sometimes a deal is too good to be true...might be why they don't want you to pick it up at the store...might be how they move the lemons?

$30 coupon doesn't apply to technology items
by GTandy December 9, 2005 7:44 AM PST
I just ordered this monitor and found out that the $30 instant rebate doesn't apply to technology items. This is listed in the fine print which gives some tech items which are excluded PLUS the phrase (including but not limited to) which is what the customer service rep quoted when I called about not getting the discount. Still should be a good price for the monitor... assuming it's a good product. Very misleading ads though.
