Deadline set for Microsoft arguments

Microsoft has until July 16 to argue against Massachusetts' request for attorneys fees in the antitrust case, according to an order by U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly made public on Monday. Massachusetts and West Virginia had sued Microsoft alongside more than a dozen other states, but were the only states that decided to appeal the final judgement.

Kollar-Kotelly's order, entered last Thursday, gave Microsoft additional time to reply to Massachusetts' argument that that state law buttresses its claim for between $1.1 million and $1.9 million in attorneys' fees. On June 18, West Virginia said it had reached an out-of-court settlement with Microsoft over its attorneys fees.
