Cray hires IBM exec for key post

Cray has hired Margaret Ann "Peg" Williams to be senior vice president of engineering, the supercomputing company said on Tuesday. Previously, she was IBM's vice president of database technology and before that, managed IBM's high-performance computing and AIX development.

Williams will oversee Cray's X1E, XT3 and XD1 supercomputer lines and its Cascade and Rainier research projects, the company said. Cray also hired President Peter Ungaro from IBM.
