Compuware refreshes Java suite

Compuware on Monday introduced a management tool for troubleshooting poor application performance and unveiled updates to the company's Java development suite.

The new tool, called Vantage Analyzer for J2EE, is designed to pinpoint Java application problems by tracking different operations, such as the response time for retrieving data or slow server performance. In combination with Compuware's Vantage systems monitoring console, it is designed to help administrators or developers more quickly locate the source of performance problems, according to company executives. Compuware also released an update to it OptimalJ development tool, which adds more modeling capability to its user interface builder. An update to its testing suite is designed to give developers more control over what parts of an application to test before it is deployed.
