Cisco, Intel sign flash pact

Intel has signed a three-year deal to provide Cisco Systems with flash memory for a variety of products, including cable modems, desktop switches and low-end routers. Under the pact announced Monday, Cisco will buy Intel's high-density flash memory devices, including advanced StrataFlash.

Such long-term deals are becoming increasingly common. Last week, Lucent Technologies signed a three-year flash deal with Intel rival Advanced Micro Devices.
