Top executives at Intel and Cisco Systems have joined the heads of other U.S.-based corporations to form the U.S.-Lebanon Partnership Fund. The fund is designed to raise both money and awareness about the needs of Lebanese communities affected by the Israel-Lebanon war this summer.
Administered by Global Impact, the effort is being led by Intel Chairman Craig Barrett, Cisco CEO John Chambers, Ghafari Chairman Yousif Ghafari and Occidental Petroleum CEO Ray Irani. According to Monday's announcement, the fund will provide money to organizations in the region, particularly those that focus on job creation, economic improvement and education.
