It's not just the mountain air. Some of the designs at this year's Geneva auto show are truly breathtaking.

At the 77th International Motor Show--that's its official name--carmakers from around the globe have been showing off one exotic car after another. Some may never get past the concept stage; many others will be built only in preordered, limited numbers for the filthy rich. But that doesn't mean you can't dream. Imagine you have money to burn and connections in the right places--you could take home any one of these beauties.

Please vote for your favorite (right) or, if it isn't on the list, start a write-in campaign in the TalkBack section at the bottom of this page.

Bugatti Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron, a 1001 horsepower sports car, could be eclipsed by the Koenigsegg CCXR's 1018 hp engine. The 16 cylinder, 8.0 liter engine has a seven-speed transmission. Its speed record of 407 kph could be in jeopardy. The Veyron costs a mere $1,630,000.

Koenigsegg CCXR

Koenigsegg's CCXR could be the fastest car ever--and it runs on biofuel. The Swedish auto maker says ethanol fuel has higher octane and better cooling power than regular gas, which boosts the power up 25 percent over the CCX to 1018 horsepower at 7200 rpm.

Toyota Hybrid?!
by tedk7 March 15, 2007 7:07 PM PDT
Who in blazes DREAMS of a prius concept car?

Take any car, remove 2/3rds of the engine, aero-shape it to insane
degrees of ugliness, and give it tires with low enough rolling
resistence to be dangerous and you'll get 40mpg, with or without
the hybrid stuff.

Blech.

Ferrari is art, all the rest only technology
by Peterbkz March 19, 2007 4:01 AM PDT
I have visited the Ferrari factory in Maranello some 40+ years ago. Ever since, and I have seen many a car factory, I have come to the conclusion that there are True Artists and there are car makers. Till this day Ferrari has been the only one in the former category. Btw., This has nothing to do with F1 racing. I have supported Ferrari even when they were down!
