I have a cell phone
and still wear a wrist watch.

I believe it is sylish and was a gift and must cherish it or stand under the threat of lashings.

But seriously, though generally i only like practical things, i believe that a wrist watch will remain a stylish accesory for a long time much like stupid rings (Which serve no function and strangle my fat fingers.)

Cell phones are way less reliable, watches after many years kick hard
I fell from my rollerblades at about 15mph landed hitting the pavement with the face of my Tag almost broke my wrist, the watch got a small scratch on the bezel, the sapphire crystal is still perfect. Try that with a cell phone.
Twenty years ego I was given a Citizen Promaster, which I abused a lot, I don't wear it anymore but I keep it running and looks and runs like new.
I like my cell phone, but a nice wristwatch has to be with me at all times.
Anyway cells sometimes are unable to do what they are made for, batteries fail,or the signal is not found and if you try to call a cingular user, is even worse.
To trade your watch for your cell is like driving without the spare tire, when you get a flat you'll see who little sense it makes.

Cell phone timepieces
They are useless if one wants to navigate using sextant. A timepiece without seconds display is not quite as bad as the earliest clockworks that only had hour hands, but it is close.

Seond at sea one has zero chance of being in range of a cell tower.

Third limited battery life.

Fourth any of my GPS's have not only correct time but also exact position, altitude. Many also display speed, change of elevation when moving, a track of where you have been. Mine have two way radio as well.

You chose the wrong gadget to replace the watch.

I wear a wrist watch that is waterproof, has choice of 12 hour or 24 hour display, stopwatch and two time zones. Obviously the second zone for me is Zulu. \
