TV really is a wasteland.

TV influences how people think, and causes them to regurgitate rather than actually THINK for themselves. It is a passive means of entertainment, and will never be a good means of education, because of it's fundamental design (as passive entertainment).
ANYTHING would be better than watching TV. Including sitting on the couch and thinking. If more people did that, the world wouldn't have the problems it has today.
