Yes he can

It probably won't be feature rich or cheap. Although if it had usb
port to attach to the TiVo that would be a step forward.

Could be interesting or limited on how simple they try to make it.
Because of the downfalls of the Airport Express, this could be a real
flop.

That's if it exists.

How do you know it won't be feature rich? Apple does not need
to make a product that does everything. Their focus on
simplicity has been a primary reason for their success. Cheap?
Well, that is in the eye of the beholder.

Could you explain your comment about a USB port? You don't
even know what Apple is going to release and you are asking for
a USB port on it. If it is a streaming video device, maybe your
TiVo will get connected to your computer, no?

Lastly, what "downfalls of the Airport Express" are you talking
about? It is small, cheap, portable, and mine has worked
flawlessly. Have you even used one?

Have a nice day!

Downfalls? Airport Express works perfect over here. Does everything as advertised.

Thankfully most new homes today are built with Home
networking in mind - lots of Cat5 and coax in the walls ( http://
www.ustec.net ). Those in homes older than say 10 years will
need a solution like a Video Airport Express, and Apple's
commitment to quality is just the sort of thing needed. Without
it, we'd have substandard solutions on the market already,
solutions that wouldn't have the reliability necessary to bring
around the mass market. (which is probably why we haven't seen
such a product yet)

Wireless device will not work
by ashaaya September 11, 2006 8:53 AM PDT
The main question regarding this mush rumored wireless device is how would you control it? Generally your Mac, let's say an iMac that resides in the office and your TV that is setup in the living room, how in the world are you going to pause a DVD you are watching? You'd better buy those iPod+Nike sports kit you will need it!

With a remote.
MacMinis are often near TVs, that's how.

People are using the Mac minis as home theater devices to control,
and often _create_ thier own media (the iLife media suite is
exceptional at this), and display their "productions" and rented
Movies on large flat screens. Games too.
