Bluetooth rocks on

Philips Components and Bang & Olufsen, a Danish company that makes high-end audio and video products, will work together to develop Bluetooth-enabled digital wireless speakers. Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows electronic devices within 30 feet of one other to share information.

Under the agreement, Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Philips Components will collaborate with B&O to produce a Bluetooth module for multiple-room wireless speakers. The joint development project is expected to be completed by December. The first B&O speakers to use the Bluetooth module are expected to hit the market by early 2002.
