truely capitalistic...
So essentially this is about companies ******** because theres "too much" competition?

"Manufacturers will have an ongoing problem in China if customers continue to buy things based on price, not quality," said Ken Dulaney, a Gartner analyst.

Is this guy on crack? Why do you think there are economy cars and luxury cars? Essentially this translates to everyone in China drives a Kia Hyundai or GM/FORD and there is no room for BMWs, Lexus and whats wrong with that?

Asia in general is a cutthroat business environment and it's GREAT for consumers, western companies aren't used to this because they don't have government granted monopolies built with red tape and regulation where only the super rich can start companies because they can to pay their way through all the red tape

Thou shalt not steal
It is just not religeous rule but a fundamental civilizational rule. The human society's transition to an agrarian society from hunter gatherer society was based on that very basic rule. The idea of private property was based on the rule that stealing (hence appropriating other's property) was illegal. Without private property, the transition to modern society would not have been possible.

Hence, the Chinese government must uphold the basic rule. That means, they must enforce the intellectual property right.
