Big advertisers headline at Yahoo

Yahoo says it has a signed commitment from advertising agency Arnold MPG, owned by marketing conglomerate Havas, to buy promotions across its Web portal for various established clients, including Chevron and Fidelity. Financial terms and the length of the deal were not disclosed.

In a rare deal for Internet publishers, Yahoo will tailor a range of Web advertising opportunities including streaming commercials and "roadblocks" on its site network for Arnold clients. "This type of commitment is necessary to support the continued growth and maturity of this marketplace," Wenda Harris Millard, Yahoo's chief ad sales officer, said in a statement. Yahoo has already started running ad campaigns for Arnold clients including Royal Carribbean, American Legacy Foundation, Chevron and Fidelity under the agreement.
