BellSouth names new COO

BellSouth on Tuesday appointed Mark Feidler as its chief operating officer, effective Jan. 1, 2005, reporting to CEO Duane Ackerman. Fiedler's previous roles included chief operating officer of Cingular Wireless from 2001 to January 2004, and chief staff officer for BellSouth--his current position.

In addition to Feidler, the Baby Bell also appointed president of consumer markets Dick Anderson as its vice chairman for planning and administration, and Isaiah Harris as its president of advertising and publishing.
