All of the airlines will go out of business shortly, so this will not be an issue - high costs, the wait, security screens, etc. - have forced me to give up on flying. Sorry, but the former Soviet Union was more consumer friendly than what we have become.

For many travelers, 'not flying' isn't an option. For instance i'm not going to take a train or bus across the country to Los Angeles for a week's stay.

I'm curious to see what these new designs will be like. They sound mostly like it's just going to be something that will accommodate a sleeve to keep the laptop in. Sure, while that may protect the laptop itself while on the belt, it sounds like extra fluff to carry around.

Great idea, though I would want to see one first hand before I say I would buy one and I agree with Jahntassa...USDecliningDollar can stay wherever he is but if I have to go across the country to get somewhere I am flying, I will find a way to pay for it.

But, like the author says, confusion at the checkpoints will hinder even the best of intentions this case will have. I was in the expert line at Orlando with my belt and shoes off, electronics out of my bag and in case ready to go but took forever because families were in the same line with their kids, strollers and items that belonged in the family line. First TSA need to enforce the line rules and get those families and those who are obviously don't know the requirements out of the intermediate and expert lines.

If that happens, then this will definitely speed things up to the point where us seasoned travelers can just fly through the security checkpoint.

It is so much easier flying in the EU- where you don't have to take your laptop out of the case in order to feel secure.
