Aviva signs up with Wipro for IT services
British insurance company Aviva has hired Bangalore, India-based Wipro Technologies to provide information technology services such as application development, maintenance and testing. The outsourcing deal is a "long-term" one, Wipro said, but representatives for the company declined to reveal the financial terms or actual period of the contract. This is the second deal with a British financial firm to be announced by Wipro this month. In a two-year agreement with Prudential UK, Wipro will handle a project designed to reduce the costs of Prudential's customer services operations.
