Apple pares away more jobs

Apple Computer cut a very small number of jobs earlier this month, CNET News.com has learned. Though Apple has not made across-the-board layoffs, the company has been trimming jobs in sales and other areas over the course of the past year. "We have had minor staff reductions, but overall headcount continues to grow," an Apple representative said. In particular, Apple has been adding workers in its retail stores.

In February, Apple disclosed in a regulatory filing that it had cut 375 jobs and planned to cut 50 more.
