Akustica tunes into $4.5 million

Akustica announced Wednesday it raised a $4.5 million first round of funding, led by Chamberlain Investments. Pittsburgh, Pa.-based Akustica is a fabless semiconductor company. The company develops an acoustic system-on-a-chip designed to improve how sound is processed and reproduced for communications and electronics products.
