What this will mean to you is that, one day, several months down the road, you will receive a letter from another cell phone company informing you that you are their customer now. Depending on who picks up your contract, you may have to change physical phones and pick a new calling plan. In all likelihood, your calling plan choices will not be as good as they were with AT&T.

You may receive a notice from AT&T before the new cell phone company send your theirs but, I wouldn't hold your breath.

In conclusion, you get the short end of the stick and/or screwed.
