AOL picks radio programming head

AOL Time Warner's America Online division named radio veteran Ron Nenni to head programming efforts for the Internet giant's online radio properties. Nenni, formerly a vice president of programming at XACT Radio Network, an Internet radio marketing company, will run programming for services such as Radio@AOL, Broadband Radio@AOL, Radio@Netscape and Spinner.

Nenni joins AOL as the division tries to turn around a business crippled by diminishing online advertising revenue and an accounting investigation from federal regulators. AOL Time Warner executives have pinned entertainment as one of the main drivers in luring new users to AOL's broadband services. In November, AOL launched a broadband version of its radio service featuring CD-quality audio. Nenni will report to AOL Radio@Network General Manager Jim Van Huysse beginning this week.
